Understanding Preserved Green Walls:
Before we tackle the cost aspect, let's quickly recap what preserved green walls are. Unlike traditional living walls that rely on real, living plants, preserved green walls feature carefully preserved and treated foliage (as well as faux succulents in some cases). These plants maintain their lifelike appearance without the need for soil, water, or sunlight. Essentially, it's nature on your terms! (No green thumb needed!)
The Initial Investment:
Okay, let's address the elephant in the room – the initial cost. Yes, preserved green walls do come with a price tag, but it's mostly an upfront investment without continuous maintenance or utilities. The preserved plants undergo a meticulous preservation process, ensuring longevity and vibrancy, which contributes to the overall expense.
However, let's not forget the big picture. Unlike their living counterparts, preserved green walls don't require ongoing care, watering, or sunlight. This means no recurring costs for soil, fertilizers, or maintenance. So, while the upfront investment may seem significant, it's a one-time deal. It typically needs to be refreshed every 3-5 years.
Long-Term Savings:
Preserved green walls are a cost-effective solution in the long run. Think about it – no need for a gardener to come by weekly, no water bills skyrocketing during hot summers, and no worries about plants withering away if you forget to water them. The preserved foliage remains vibrant and beautiful for years, making it a sustainable and financially savvy choice.
Customization and Versatility:
Preserved green walls offer a range of customization options, allowing you to tailor the design to suit your space. Whether you prefer a wild jungle vibe or a minimalist touch of greenery, these walls can be crafted to match your aesthetic.
The versatility they offer makes the initial investment worth every penny.
Conclusion:
So, are preserved green walls expensive? Yes, initially. However, when you consider the long-term savings, the high level of customization, and the joy they bring without the hassle of maintenance, the cost becomes a smart investment. It's not just about creating a beautiful space; it's about cultivating a sustainable and stress-free connection with nature. So go ahead, embrace the green revolution, and let your walls come alive (metaphorically, that is!)

In a world dominated by generic and predictable branding, standing out is crucial for any business. One way to infuse your brand with a unique identity is by incorporating moss logos. Moss logos offer a refreshing departure from traditional design elements and provide a natural appeal that sets your brand apart from the competition.

Moss, with its lush green color and soft texture, brings a sense of vibrancy and vitality to your brand. By integrating moss into your logo design, you create an instant connection to nature, conveying a message of freshness and growth.
Crafting a moss logo requires thoughtful design and careful consideration of your brand's essence. The logo should be cohesive with your overall brand identity while incorporating the distinct characteristics of moss. Whether it's a bold and modern interpretation or a more whimsical and organic approach, the moss logo should reflect your brand's personality and resonate with your target audience.
To sum it up, moss logos offer a unique way to infuse your brand with a distinctive identity. By incorporating moss into your logo design, you create a visually striking representation. Embrace the beauty of moss, and let your brand flourish with an appeal that captivates your audience.

]]>Moss walls are a great way to add some greenery to your home or office space. They are low maintenance, eco-friendly, and can help bring calm and beauty into any space. In this step-by-step guide, we will show you how to install and maintain your moss wall.
Step 1: Choose a suitable location
The first step in installing a moss wall is to choose a suitable location. The ideal location should have indirect or filtered light and moderate humidity. Avoid direct sunlight or strong artificial lighting, as this can cause the moss to turn brown or fade more quickly. Also make sure it is in a place where people can't touch it on a regular basis. No watering is needed either.
Step 2: Measure the area
Measure the area where you want to install the moss wall. This will help you determine the amount of space you want to cover in moss. Review our gallery and collections to see the various options and design styles. Schedule a call to discuss the project with our team.
Step 3: Prepare the surface
Before installing the moss, prepare the surface by cleaning it thoroughly. Remove any dust, dirt, or debris using a soft-bristled brush or a vacuum cleaner. We also recommend putting down plastic to cover the floors before hanging the panels.
Step 4: Hanging the moss panels
Start by laying out the moss on the floor so you know the order it should be installed. Start at the bottom of the surface and work your way up. Make sure to screw the moss panels firmly onto the surface to ensure good contact. If there is any bounce, just use another screw. Next step is to zhoosh the seams or add a little extra material (MAKE SURE IT MATCHES!) to cover over any lines.
Step 5: Maintain the moss wall
To maintain your moss wall, don't do anything to it! Please do not mist it. If you want to reinvigorate it if the humidity drops too low, you can steam it with a clothing steamer. To clean, use a blow dryer on low. Do not mist or over light the piece as this can damage the color. If you notice any dry or brown patches, we may have a green spray we can send you (for certain colors). If someone rips off a piece, use the material we sent in the repair kit to help patch it.
Conclusion
Installing a moss wall is a great way to add some greenery to your home or office space. With the right location, preparation, and maintenance, your moss wall can thrive for years to come. Follow these simple steps to install and maintain your moss wall, and enjoy the benefits of a natural and sustainable addition to your space.

Living walls, also known as bio walls or plant walls, are perhaps the most well-known type of green wall. They consist of a wall-mounted panel or framework that supports live plants, typically grown hydroponically. Living walls require regular maintenance, including watering, fertilizing, and pruning, and regular pest control, but they provide a beautiful and natural touch to any space. There are also air purfying benefits. These can be both indoors and outdoors.
3. Green Screens
Green Screens, also known as living screens or vegetative screens, are a type of green wall that provides privacy and shade in outdoor spaces. They consist of a lattice or mesh structure that supports climbing plants, such as vines or ivy. Green screens can be used to create a natural barrier between outdoor spaces or to cover unsightly walls or fences.
4. Green Roofs
Green roofs, also known as living roofs, are a type of green wall that covers the roof of a building with plants. They provide insulation, absorb rainwater, and reduce the urban heat island effect. Green roofs require specialized installation and maintenance, but they can provide a beautiful and sustainable addition to any building.
5. Green Facades
Green facades, also known as living walls or bio-facades, are a type of green wall that uses climbing plants to cover the exterior of a building. They provide insulation, reduce energy costs, and improve air quality. Green facades require specialized installation and maintenance, but they can provide a unique and sustainable addition to any building.
In conclusion, green walls (also called moss walls, living walls, plant walls, succulent walls, bio walls, vertical gardens, gardens on the wall, etc). are a versatile and sustainable way to bring nature into any space. From living walls to moss walls, green screens to green roofs, and vertical gardens to green facades, there are many types of green walls to choose from, each with their own unique benefits and challenges. Whether you're looking to improve air quality, reduce energy costs, or simply add a touch of natural beauty to your space, there's a green wall that's perfect for you.
In 2021 Green Wallscapes had the opportunity to design a fantastic piece for Yotel Miami. Literally dripping with every color imaginable. This unique design is located in the heart of Miami, Florida at Yotel Miami. Using all preserved reindeer mosses to make this colorful spectacle come to life. This statement piece is perfect for Yotel Miami and is a must see if you’re staying at the hotel or in the Downtown Miami area.
Decorating your hotel with plants can really bring the wow factor. Especially when you design with colorful moss art walls. For Yotel Miami, we designed a piece using all preserved reindeer moss. Preserved reindeer moss goes through a soaking and drying process to preserve its natural look and spongy texture. Because of its texture, the color can be easily manipulated and dyed to create all the fabulous colors you see in this piece. It is one-of-a-kind and creates a memorable scene for all the guests who visit Yotel Miami.
Watch as the wall is installed by our talented team!
For years, Green Wallscapes has led in the area of moss logos - bringing brands to life for big companies like Amazon, Stella Artois, Garden of Life and more! These moss signs are very unique way to represent your brand!

Its elegant and contemporary aesthetic, combined with its incorporation of natural elements, left a lasting impression on visitors. The pod's concept resonated with the growing desire among professionals to work in environments that prioritize their physical and mental well-being.
Lindsay Scherr Burgess, CEO and Moss Boss of Green Wallscapes, spoke passionately about her experience of working on the ‘Space to Be You’ pod. ]]>Each collection that we create is comprised of different materials.
Amazonia Collection - This application is preserved moss, preserved ferns, and faux succulents. It's incredibly popular because the combination of the preserved and faux material makes everything seem alive!
Botanica Collection - Preserved ferns and mosses combined in a soft, organic fashion. This can have a very woodsy, yet elegant vibe to it.
Origin Series - Mixed Mosses combined in a myriad of patterns and flows. Some are very structured (like the one below) other designs are much softer and more organic. We use mood moss, pillow moss (some call it bun moss) and reindeer moss to create incredible patterns and flows.
Chroma Collection - Reindeer moss is the only moss we can get that comes in a myriad of colors! The photo below is an example of a lot of fun colors used together!
Folio - Sheet Moss can be used to bring in some green in a very clean way. Used mostly for lettering - this application is our least expensive, most minimalist option.
]]>Fresh moss walls can release a scent of nature for the first 1-4 weeks after the installation as they adjust to their new surroundings. However, there's no need to worry about the new natural aromas in your space! We send mint aromatherapy sprays for the first couple of days (which also function like an insect repellant), but you can also use candles, air fresheners, diffusers, zero odor, and other smell masking sprays in the area. If you decide to use something you procure yourself, please do not spray it directly on the moss wall, but rather 2-3 feet in front of it. Keeping the ventilation going or opening the windows (where possible) for the first few weeks will also help with any smells.
We've never had issues with our clients past the first week or two (and we've done over 1,000 walls) - and most of the time they say they love it and the beauty of their piece outweighs any short-term olfactory situation.
]]>Preserved moss walls can be a sustainable choice, depending on the materials used and the method of preservation. Generally, moss walls are preserved with a combination of non-toxic chemicals, which can make them a more sustainable option than artificial alternatives (like plastic boxwood).
Some preserved moss walls may qualify for LEED credits depending on which credits are being pursued. They can be presented as part of the biophilic design package. It is best to consult with a LEED certified professional to determine if a particular preserved moss wall would qualify for certification.

In recent years, we've seen a growing trend towards biophilic design in office spaces. Biophilic design involves incorporating natural elements, such as plants and natural materials, into indoor environments to promote well-being and productivity. One element of biophilic design that has gained popularity is the moss wall. These green walls are made of preserved moss that require no maintenance, watering, or sunlight (they look alive, but they are not). They are a great way to bring nature into indoor environments and offer a range of benefits. In this blog post, we'll look at how moss walls transformed a corporate office space.
The Challenge
The corporate office space we'll be discussing is a large, open-plan area with minimal natural light. The space was quite sterile and lacked personality. The company wanted to create a more welcoming and inspiring environment for employees and visitors alike while reflecting their global footprint. They wanted to create a space that would promote well-being and creativity.
The Solution
The solution was to install a large moss wall at the far end of the open-plan space. The moss wall was made up of preserved moss in different shades of green, creating an effect of movement and flow. The moss wall added warmth and natural texture to the space.
The Results
The moss wall had an immediate impact on the office space. It became a focal point of the room, drawing the eye and adding interest to an otherwise bland area. The wall also helped to absorb sound, creating a more peaceful and calming environment.
But the benefits of the moss wall didn't stop there. Research has shown that exposure to nature can have a range of benefits for our well-being, including reducing stress, improving mood, and increasing creativity. The moss wall brought a touch of nature into the office space, providing employees with a connection to the natural world and promoting their well-being.
The moss wall also had an impact on the company's brand. By creating a unique and visually striking feature in their office space, the company demonstrated its commitment to creativity, innovation, and well-being. The moss wall became a talking point among employees and visitors alike, helping to build a sense of community and pride in the workplace.
Conclusion
Moss walls are a great way to bring nature into indoor environments and promote well-being and creativity. They offer a range of benefits, from absorbing sound to reducing stress and improving mood. In this case study, we've seen how a moss wall transformed a corporate office space, adding interest, warmth, and personality to an otherwise sterile area. The moss wall became a focal point of the room and helped to promote the company's brand values of creativity and well-being. If you're looking to transform your own office space, a moss wall could be just the solution you need.
Here are a myriad of moss walls we've done for corporate offices all over the US and Canada:

]]>1) Prepare your space - make sure it is all cleaned and cleared so you can easily install the wall without the fear of dry wall dust or dirt. Lay down a plastic cover so that the floors are protected. Double confirm the measurements of the wall before you start screwing it into the wall.
2) Layout your moss pieces. We like to start from either the top left or the top right. If you have edging on one side and not the other, start with that side. All the panels are numbered so you know where each one goes.
3) Screw in the first piece and keep going until all the panels are screwed into the wall. If something is too big or too small, please
4) Zhoosh the seams with your hands. If you can't get the seam to disappear, then add additional material to the area with a glue gun to cover the seam.
5) Clean up and enjoy! There is no watering required!
]]>Where can I put a preserved moss wall?
You can put a preserved moss wall almost anywhere as long as it is inside! It looks especially nice when hung on a wall in a bedroom, living room, or hallway. You can also put it in a bathroom, a study, or even a kitchen. Tons of commercial offices and lobbies host our moss walls! We've done green wall projects for yoga studios, medical offices, dentists offices, orthodontics offices, gyms, corporate headquarters, large apartment buildings, and more! Anywhere you want to bring a touch of nature indoors and add some texture to the space, a preserved moss wall can be a great choice.
Do I need to water a preserved moss wall? What is the maintenance?
Preserved moss walls are a great way to bring nature into your home without the hassle of regular maintenance! They don't require any water or sunlight and can quickly transform any space with a pop of natural beauty. The only maintenance required is to occasionally vacuum the moss wall with a soft brush attachment, blow the dust off with a blow dryer, or steam it with a clothing steamer (in low humidity environments only as needed!!!) to keep it looking its best.
How long do preserved moss walls last?
Preserved moss walls can last for years if cared for properly. To maintain the longevity of your preserved moss wall, it is important to keep it away from direct sunlight, overnighting with spot lights or strong LEDs, and avoid getting it wet. Additionally, you should dust the wall regularly (1-3x per year) with a blow dryer to prevent the accumulation of dirt and debris. With the proper care, your preserved moss wall can last for many years.
Are preserved moss walls hard to keep alive?
The answer is yes, because they are not alive when you get them! Preserved moss is moss in suspended animation. It does not grow. Preserved moss walls are a great way to add a unique and natural element to any space. They are easy to maintain, but you will need to follow the manufacturer's instructions for caring for your wall. Generally, the moss will not require much water, but it will need to be kept away from direct sunlight and damp, humid conditions. With proper care and maintenance, you can ensure your preserved moss wall will look beautiful for years to come.
How much do preserved moss walls cost?
The answer is... it depends. There are plant paintings for a couple of hundred of dollars, up to tens of thousands if it is a whole wall. Materials, finishes, logo, and other elements go into coming up with the price. The largest moss wall we've ever done was over $75,000 when it was completed, but our typical project is in the $3,000-15,000 range. These pieces are all handmade in our West Palm Beach studio and then either installed by our team or shipped to other parts of the country.
]]>Here are some examples of moss walls we've done for office spaces in the past:
]]>It was a ton of work- 2 years of planning, 30 days of production, 2 days of installation after 6 months of construction days, 1 day of touch up work a couple of weeks later, 1 giant ladder and a scissor lift. These kinds of projects make us stronger, by pushing our limits. Large scale moss walls require an incredible amount of coordination and can make or break a space. Check out the installation photos below!
]]>As the world continues to prioritize sustainable living, wellness, and green initiatives, more and more people are turning to green walls as a way to bring nature into their homes and workplaces. Green walls, also known as living walls or vertical gardens, not only look beautiful but also provide a range of benefits, including stress reduction, noise reduction, and increased productivity.
If you're looking to incorporate a green wall into your space in 2023, here are the top 5 design trends to try:
1. Moss Walls
Moss walls are a sustainable and low-maintenance option for those who want to add some greenery to their space without the hassle of watering and maintaining plants. Moss walls can be designed in a range of colors and textures, and can also be used to create patterns or logos.
2. Vertical Kitchen Gardens
Vertical kitchen gardens are a great way to bring fresh herbs and vegetables into your home, while also reducing your carbon footprint. These green walls are designed to grow plants that are commonly used in cooking, such as basil, parsley, and thyme. Not only do these gardens provide a sustainable source of fresh produce, but they also add a beautiful and unique design element to any kitchen.
3. Artistic Green Walls
Artistic green walls are a trend that combines functionality with creativity. These living walls are designed to be visually stunning, with intricate patterns, shapes, and colors. They can be used to create a focal point in a room, or to add a unique design element to an outdoor space. Artistic green walls can be customized to suit any style or aesthetic, making them a versatile trend for 2023.
4. Hydroponic Walls
Hydroponic walls are a sustainable and innovative way to grow plants vertically. Hydroponics is a method of growing plants without soil, using nutrient-rich water instead. This allows for faster growth and higher yields, while also conserving water and reducing the use of pesticides. Hydroponic walls can be used to grow a range of plants, from herbs and vegetables to ornamental flowers and succulents.
5. UV Coated Plant Walls
Installed by turf companies, these plastic UV coated plant walls can be either a simple boxwood or have a multitude of plants in them. They are a perfect no-maintenance alternative for outdoor use to a living wall (although we do not recommend them indoors). They are getting better all the time.
In conclusion, green walls are a versatile and sustainable design trend that can bring a range of benefits to your home or workplace. From modular systems to artistic designs, there are many ways to incorporate a green wall into your space in 2023. So why not try one of these top 5 trends and bring some nature into your life?

Across all cultures in the world, an inherent value is placed on
nature. For the Japanese, forest bathing, or Shinrin-yoku [1],
involves taking in the forest atmosphere to reduce stress.
Friluftsliv is a Scandinavian philosophy based on spiritual
connectedness with the landscape [2]. Even in large cities, real
estate values are highest in proximity to natural, green spaces
[3–5]. A growing body of empirical evidence has begun to
demonstrate links between exposure to nature, specifically
green vegetation, and an array of health outcomes. In this
review, we explore the mechanisms by which surrounding
greenness may affect health (Fig. 1), detail methods to mea-
sure greenness exposure, review and summarize the evidence
on exposure to greenness and various health outcomes
(Table 1), and suggest necessary next steps to advance re-
search in this field. This review is not meant to be comprehen-
sive, but results from a survey of recent public health litera-
ture. The details of each study we reviewed can be found in
Supplemental Table S1.
